What Our Client Says?
"I was so blown away, I made it  my career"
Trekking to Everest Base Camp was a very long held ambition which I finally achieved three years ago. I was so blown away by my experience that, when I came back, I changed careers and joined Nepal Guide Treks & Expedition- the trekking company that I travelled with.

Now I spend my days talking to people about trekking holidays in the Himalaya, looking at photos from treks to Everest Base Camp and helping other trekkers achieve this fantastic goal. Of course, there are many other classic walks around the world but the Everest Base Camp trek remains the most iconic and desirable of all.

Now there are several variations on the classic route that can take you not only to Everest Base Camp, but also into the more remote areas of the Khumbu.

For that reason, it seemed like a good idea to set up a website to share my passion for the Everest Base Camp trek and the others in the region, along with useful information, helpful tips and some stunning images. So, now there's no reason for you not to put on those walking boots and start planning for the trek of your life.

The Annapurna Sanctuary is the perfect introduction to Himalayan trekking. A classic trek into the heart of the mighty Himal with unsurpassed views - an unbeatable medium length trek.

For a short trek with few altitude problems, the Annapurna region provides you with unparalleled access to spectacular horizons of snowy peaks, so high that you'll find yourself looking twice before you believe that they are not clouds. As well as providing the views for which the trek is famous, the trail takes you through an ever-changing landscape of rice fields, misty forests and tiny local villages.

Our trek starts from Pokhara with a short drive to the road head. We ascend well-trodden trails through terraced farmland and traditional villages. As we climb through ancient oak and rhododendron forest, across sparkling streams and past waterfalls, the world of snow and ice starts to unfold above us. This combination of pretty villages and terraced fields of millet and rice, coupled by the majestic splendour of Machapuchare (6,993m), Annapurna I and Hiunchuli (6,441m) make this an extremely rewarding trek.

Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Pokhara (820m), drive (6 hours). Overnight stay at Barahi Hotel.
Pokhara is a beautiful town set on the banks of the Phewa Lake. It is smaller and much less hectic than Kathmandu and is the perfect starting point for our trek.

Day 02: Drive to Nayapul and start trek to Ghandruk – 6 to 7 hrs hours
Ghandruk is a big Gurung village. There is a handicraft centre and Gurung museum. From this village you could see good views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail.

Day 03: Trek Ghandruk to Chhomrung (2040 m.) – 5 to 6 hrs hours.
From Ghandrung there are good views of the upper Modi valley. The route starts the long ascent high above the west bank of the Modi Khola, and continues up to the village of Chhomrung (2040m.) Towering above the village is the mighty peak of Annapurna South, with the Fishtail facing it across the valley.

Dayy 04: Trek Chhomrung to Bamboo
Ascend a long, stone staircase through Chhomrung and rhododendrons forests to Kuldi. Continue trekking through beautiful rhododendron forests and up to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa, the trail leads up to the Modi Khola.

Day 05: Trek Bamboo to Himalayan Hotel
Before the route goes steeply down a bank of rock and then levels out, running through riverside bamboo thickets along the base of the gorge. Then the track winds steeply up through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Doban. We camp above Himalaya Hotel (2680m.)

Day 06: Trek Himalayan Hotel to Annapurna Base Camp
From Himalayan Hotel, climb high above the river, on to the lateral moraine, and down the other side to the glacier. This leg of the journey takes you up the bed of the glacier before finally arriving at the Annapurna Base Camp (4237m) for an overnight stay.

Day 07: Excursion to Annapurna Base Camp
Early morning excursion for a stunning sunrise.

Day 08: By Helicopter flight back to pokhara & over night at pokhara at 3 star hotel.
