Trip Introduction;
Beautiful Mountain Amadablam 6812m is located inside Khumbu region of Nepal whereas it stands south side from Mt. Everest 8848m and Mt. Lhotse 8516.  Mount Amadablam simply means “Mother Mountain” which symbolized female is widely popular as a “'Matterhorn of the Himalaya”. Pyramid shaped snow-capped mountain Amadablam also can be seen very closely from the popular Everest Base Camp Trekking trail. Mount Amadablam was firstly summit by Mike Gill, Barry Bishop, Mike Ward and Wally Romanes in 1961 via its southwest ridge. Climber can adjoin their Amadablam expedition journey with Island Peak Climbing which helps to taste physical fitness level & acclimatization with altitude to be successful in expedition. According to the record, Amadablam is third most popular permitted expedition mountain in Nepal.

Amadablam Expedition Adventure journey with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition starts after a short and scenic flight to Lukla – gateway for Everest region trekking and climbing. Pre- climbing journey gradually heads towards Sherpa kingdom Namche Bazaar, Tyangboche, Dingboche and to Chukkung which is same route of Nepal’s popular Island Peak Climbing trail. From Chhukkung, climber can have summit of Island Peak 6189m and back to chukkung within three days. After reach at Amadablam Base Camp, we will have one or two days of acclimatization and preparation. Generally, we need to establish three additional high camps from Base camp to accomplish Amadablam expedition whereas camp third would be just bellow from the amazing hanging glacier.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu [1345m/4411ft] and transfer to Hotel.
Our representative from Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition will greet you at Tribhuwan International Airport on your arrival schedule. Then you will be transferred to the hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city. Our staff will help you until the check-in procedure ends at Hotel. You can either have a rest at the Hotel or visit NGT’s office for gathering additional information about the expedition. In the evening, please join our welcome dinner program organized by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition.

Day 02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu & Climbing Preparation
Today we will spend most of our day sightseeing around some of the world heritage sites of UNESCO inside Kathmandu Valley. Most importantly we will complete all the paper works and make necessary preparations required for Amadablam Expedition.
Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for a day sightseeing.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla [2800m/9184m] [35 min flight] & Trek to Phakding [2640m/8659ft] [3-4 hrs Trek]
Today we will take an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to Khumbu and entire Everest region. After landing at Lukla we start our trek on the trail that is ascends gradually along the left bank of Dudh Koshi river. Our trek passes along several mani walls as we pass through Ghat. From there we will arrive at Phakding in short time for our overnight stay.

Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar [3440m/11283ft] [5-6 hrs Trek]
After breakfast we leave Phakding and cross a small stream before following a rising trail to reach Bengar. We will arrive at Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park Service after some time of trekking. Here the park entrance fee is collected. After registration at the National Park office we will make a steep ascent to reach Namche Bazaar for the overnight stay. Namche Bazaar is also known as ' The Sherpa Capital '.  We will spend one more day at Namche Bazaar for exploration and acclimatization.

Day 05: Acclimatization and Exploration day at Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar has abundance of lodges, tea shops and souvenir shops. It is an ideal place to spend a rest day for acclimatization at the high altitude. For the acclimatization we walk upto Khunde Hospital which was set-up by Sir Edmund Hillary, or take an hour's walk up to the Syangboche at 3,800 meters for outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. There are also good views from the National Park Centre and Museum just above the town.

Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche [3867m/12683ft] [5-6 Hrs Trek]
After spending a full day rest at Namche Bazaar, we continue our uphill trekking that passes through the ridge just above the town where National Park Museum is located. Our trail is a gradual ascend journey as we head towards Khyangjuma. A stone paved trail descends down to Phunke Tenga before climbing a switchback through pine forest to reach Tyangboche for the overnight stay.

Day 07: Trek from Tyangboche to Pheriche [4300m/14104ft] [5-6 hrs Trek]
Today we wake up early for attending morning prayers and to receive blessings from the senior monk at Tyangboche Monastery. After finishing the prayers we will leave Tyangboche and trek through delightful forest towards Deboche. Our trail descends to cross a bridge before climbing steeply for about an hour to reach Pangboche. From Pangboche we will follow the Imja river that leads to the major trail junction. The right fork leads to Dingboche, but we turn left and trek towards Pheriche.

Day 08: Trek from Pheriche to Amadablam Base Camp [4800m/15744ft] [3-4 hrs Trek]
From Pheriche our trek continues through harsh alpine vegetation. It is a rather short day of trekking but is a gradual ascend journey all the way to Amadablam Base Camp. We will trek until we reach the large open fields at 4,800 meters where our Base Camp will be set upon. Once we reach our campsite, our Sherpa crew will set up the base camp and start making necessary preparations for setting up higher camps above base camp and finding the route to the summit of Mt Amadablam.

Day 09-22: Summit Mt. Amadablam [6812m/22343ft] and back to Base Camp
We will spend several days engaging in climbing training practices with adequate days for acclimatization. Following the footsteps of our experienced climbing Sherpa guides, we climb higher and closer to the summit. Fully equipped with all the climbing gears, we will wait for a favorable weather condition and head towards the summit of one of the challenging and technical climbing high peaks in the world. Our tiring climb to the summit of Mt Amadablam is rewarded with stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Baruntse and other surrounding high peaks in Khumbu region. We will spend short time at the summit before we start to descend down following the same route back to the base camp.

Day 23: Trek from Base Camp to Tyangboche [4-5 hrs Trek]
After the successful achievement of our target - the summit of Mt Amadablam, we will make a relaxed start and prepare for our return trekking. We start our trek by retracing our steps back to Pheriche. Our trek goes along the main EBC trail towards Pangboche. It is mostly downhill trekking from Pangboche until we reach Deboche. Then we will follow a rising trail to reach Tyangboche.

Day 24: Trek from Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar [5-6 Hrs Trek]
Today we leave Tyangboche and trek along the leveled path for a while before descending down to Phunke Tenga. Then, our trail is a gradual uphill trekking as we trek passing through Kyangjuma. From there it is a pleasant walk all the way back to Namche Bazaar. After arriving at Namche Bazaar, feel free to visit local stores and souvenir shops where you might find interesting things for your loved ones back home. We will spend our overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Day 25: Trek back to Lukla [5-6 hrs Trek]
The last day of our trek leads from Namche Bazaar via Monjo to Lukla. We will descend passing through dense forest area filled with rhododendron, oak and pine trees. Our trek is a pleasant walk, except for few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote Koshi River crossing it three times. We will make a final  uphill climb of approximately about 45 minutes to reach back to Lukla.

Day 26: Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla Airport
Today we start early for taking a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. After landing at Kathmandu Airport you will be transferred to the hotel. You can either have rest at Hotel or visit (world heritage sites of UNESCO) that weren’t possible on the second day of the trip. Enjoy your leisure time exploring the busy market streets of Kathmandu City.

Day 27: Leisure day in Kathmandu
You would surely like to see as much of Kathmandu as possible. An early start is practical to visit the temples of Kathmandu. Also, walking around the shopping streets of Thamel is worth spending quality time at Kathmandu. We will celebrate the successful completion of Amadablam Expedition and have a final meal together in the evening.
