The proliferation of comfortable teahouses and well-maintained trails accommodates tens of thousands of trekkers from around the globe each year. The Everest region fans out into a series of impressive glacier filled valleys above the main trading center of Namche Bazaar - also known as ' The Sherpa Capital '. The eastern side of the region includes the main trail to Everest Base Camp and the viewpoint of Kala Patthar at 5545 meters. Apart from the mesmerizing views of high mountains and high alpine valleys, one gets to experience the authentic Sherpa culture (who have been residing in the region for long period of time). Hence, Everest Base Camp Trekking is an excellent opportunity for trekkers who wants to experience the culture and traditions of warm and friendly Sherpa locals while exploring the region's rich resources.

After exploration around the Base Camp, we retrace our steps back to Gorakshep. The following day we will accomplish an early morning hike to Kalapatthar 5545 meters for enjoying the up-close sunrise view over Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Everest Base Camp

This was my second visit to Nepal, and my second time working with Prakash and his brother, our guide, Mukesh. Everest Base Camp has been a long held dream of mine, and one that I knew was going to challenge me on every level. I undertook the 15 day trek as both a personal challenge, and to raise funds for a charity dear to my heart back home (The Irish Hospice Foundation). It was very important for me to achieve my Base Camp goal. With this in mind I didn't think twice about contacting Prakash knowing he would be the perfect person to help me with my endeavour. Prakash was extremely supportive and helpful in assisting me and my two dear friends in planning our December trip. He was always at the end of an email, ready to answer every question and provide alternatives and options when needed. From the minute the plane landed, to the day we left the country, Prakash ensured that we were blanketed in the same Nepali hospitality and care that I had been privileged to receive on my first visit to the country four years ago. I feel blessed also that Mukesh was available to guide us through our adventure.
I cannot express enough the high regard that I hold for him and the care with which he does his job. Through the difficult and easy times he was ever there with knowledge, patience, service, and genuine support, concern and friendship. We also had two wonderful porters help us through the trek , Nema Sherpa and Songay, and whose company we enjoyed through many a game of Speed on the long. dark evenings. I can recommend December highly for the Base Camp trek for a number of reasons. Even though the temps are cold at night, during the day the clear sunny skies make it very pleasant for trekking. Also, it is out of season so the route is not overwhelmed by other trekkers. This has a knock on effect at the lodges because they are quiet and it means that you can easily get extra blankets at night. When we finally reached Base Camp, we had it all to ourselves, which was a wonderful thing. Base Camp Trek is an exhilarating and humbling experience, particularly when you find yourself sharing the pathways with the local people carrying incredible loads, or in the midst of a memorial ground for the many who lost their lives in pursuit of their dreams to summit the highest mountain in the world. The experience though was ultimately made memorable though by the people with whom I shared it, and who made it possible ... Prakash, Nema Sherpa, Songay, my two good friends Shelley and Michelle, and especially Mukesh ... I wouldn't have gotten up that mountain without them! A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To prakash & the Team & Nepal Guide Treks

I was most happy and eternally greatful that I took my trip with Nepal Guide Treks to mount everesdt base camp.

The trip ran smoothly and was a huge process with Ang Dendi Sherpa who was a very charismatic and worm individual.. the expertise and freedom of all of adventures was a breath of fresh air in companion to the trekking companies. I would not hesitate to recommend Nepal Guide Treks to others, as I will be back again myself in the future.

Thanks again to Prakash & the Team & Specially to Dendi Sherpa.

The trekking tour to the Mount Everest Base Camp (13 days)

I had the luck to do both trekking in the Everest region and in the Annapurna region. I chose to get help, support and information from the local trekking office Nepal Guide Treks & Expedition (p) LTD in Kathmandu. The manager Mr Prakash Devkota welcomed me heartly and arranged both trips as all inclusive tours for the time and budget I had. My guide while trekking in the mountains was his brother Mukesh, who could tell me a lot of interesting things about the people, country, landscape and Nepalese life. The trekking tour to the Mount Everest Base Camp (13 days) started with a flight to Lukla and already from the plane it was possible to see the panorama of the Himalayan mountains.

Every day we walked several hours and when we reached the lodge in the evening I felt really tired but happy. Here far from the city and modern life, in small villages high up in the mountains you really feel a unique atmosphere. On the way we enjoyed the view and changing vegetation, saw yaks and met other trekkers, slept in nice lodges where friendly people served us the food. We also vistited the great monastery in Tengboche. The greatest moment was of course to see Mount Everest (8848m) from the view piont called Kala Pattar. The tour in the Annapurna region (one week) started near the city Pokhara, to where we went by mini bus. Here we walked to the view point called Poon Hill from where it is possible to see a great montain panorama with for example Machhapuchhre ("Fish Tail" 6993m). Very beautiful was also the village Ghandrung. The days in Kathmandu I stayed at Lhasa Guest House, what was a good choice as well as to make the trekking tours with Nepal Guide Treks & Expedition. I took a lot of memories back to Sweden and can definately imagine to return to Nepal again.
