Trip Introduction;
Lower Dolpo Trek is an excellent opportunity for trekkers wanting to explore the remote, wild, magical and mysterious land of Dolpo. Located at the north western Himalayan region of Nepal, Dolpo is the land of world's natural hidden wonders. The exploration of rich wildlife, ancient and isolated villages with distinctive Bon-Po religion surely offers a life time experience to keen trekkers. Lower Dolpo Trek also provides the excursion over the country's largest National Park - Shey Phoksundo National Park.

The park is home to many species of endangered animals including Musk Deer, Himalayan Blue Sheep, and the exclusive Snow Leopard. Moreover, we will do some excursion around the beautiful cobalt blue Shey-Phoksundo Lake. During our entire journey to Lower Dolpo, we trek through beautiful rain shadow landscape of the Himalayas with an amazing combination of light and shadows.

Lower Dolpo Trek with Nepal Guide Treks starts with a sweeping flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj - a southern town city in western Nepal. From Nepalgunj, we take another short scenic flight to Jhupal at lower Dolpo - the starting point of the trek. From Jhupal we begin our adventurous trek by following the trail that leads to Dunai. Dunai is the administrative center as well as the main trading centre of lower Dolpo. We continue to follow the trail for some days, passing through several traditional and cultural villages and crossing high passes to reach Ringmo.

Ringmo is truly a wonderful place to spend a leisure day. The deep cobalt blue water of Phoksundo Lake and the high snow peaks of Kanjiroba Himalayan ranges truly make our Ringmo visit worthwhile. Besides, the remote village of Ringmo and its Monastery attracts visitors from all over the world. After spending quality time at Ringmo our return journey heads passing through Chepka towards the airstrip of Jhupal. Our wonderful and memorable trekking experience at Lower Dolpo with Nepal Guide Treks ends with a flight from Jhupal back to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.

Amazing Dolpo Trek =)

I wanted to trek around lower dolpo. I wasn't sure from which company to book the trek with but after visiting a couple of trekking companies I booked the lower dolpo trek with Nepal Guide Treks. At first I wasn't sure if I had made the right choice, but later during the trek I was fully satisfied with the level of service I was provided by the team. Beautiful landscapes, wonderful people and the amazing Shey-Phoksundo Lake is what this trek has in its side. I enjoyed the trek much. Many thanks to Nepal Guide Treks for the support.
