Trip Introduction
Yala Peak 5500m is located in the beautiful Langtang Valley. The Peak is considered as one of the easiest trekking peaks in Nepal. Less technical and straightforward, Yala Peak Climbing is a perfect opportunity for beginner climbers to gain peak climbing experience.  From the summit, stunning views of popular mountain Shishapangma 8046m, Langtang Lirung 7245m, Dorje Lakpa 6990m, Naya Kanga Peak 5844m, Gangchempo 6,387m and many other snow-capped peaks can be seen. 

Yala Peak Climbing with Nepal Guide Treks starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dunche - the starting point of our trek. We begin our trek from here passing through the dense forest of Rhododendron, Oaks, and Pines forest towards Kyangjin Gompa. After spending a day for acclimatization at Kyangjin Gompa our trailheads to Yala Base Camp. Once at the Basecamp, we quickly set up our camp and make necessary preparation for the climbing of the summit. Properly acclimatized and fully equipped we follow the trail led by our experienced climbing experts towards the summit of Yala Peak. Once on the top, we are rewarded with the stunning views of towering mountains within Langtang Valley including Langtang Lirung 7245m, Dorje Lakpa 6990m, Pemthang Karpo 6830m, Gangchenpo 6387m and across the border in Tibet rises the huge mass of Shishapangma 8046m. After achieving the summit we make a return journey back to Base Camp. From Base Camp, we descend all the down to Syabrubesi. The adventurous experience at Yala Peak Climbing with Nepal Guide Treks ends with a scenic drive from Syabrubesi back to Kathmandu.

Accommodations:
Sophisticated hotels and resorts from normal tourist standard category to five-star categories are available in Kathmandu for your accommodation, where you can choose your affordable one. During the entire trekking (apart from the climbing period of Yala Peak) there is availability of tea house/lodges. And during the climbing period for a couple of days, there need to set up tented camp accommodations. So we will provide all tea house accommodation at available places and camping accommodation at the places where tea house/lodges are not available. Accommodation can be Single, Double, Triple or twin sharing basis as per your requirement.

Meals: 
Our each and every trekking and peak climbing package trips are inclusive of all meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) including the package trip of this Yala Peak Climbing during the entire trekking and climbing period, apart from the BB plan stay in Kathmandu. We will have Dinner and Breakfast in the same teahouse/Camp where we spent overnight and Lunch will be en-route of trekking towards next destination since we have to leave our accommodation after breakfast to continue the trek. You can enjoy the taste of varieties of cuisines; Nepali food, Tibetan, Continental, Indian, Italian etc by choosing in the menu. During the camping period while we are in Yala Peak Base Camp; our kitchen team will prepare hygienic foods to serve you. There might not be several choices of foods during the camp as in the tea houses and restaurants; you have to understand that our crew have to carry all camping gears and kitchen equipments from available places but we are sure we will provide as much services and facilities as we can do to make your adventure holiday awesome.

Physical Conditions and Experience Required: 
Every Peak Climbing is a technical adventure activity in Nepal which requires previous trekking experience and technical skills about peak climbing gears to have successful summit. While comparing other peaks with Yala Peak, this is comparatively easier with less altitude - suitable for beginner climbers. Sometime, walking in high altitudes might attract by high altitude sickness, slow and steady walk would be the perfect solution. We suggest every adventure seekers who are planning to come Nepal for trekking adventure to do daily around an hour physical workout (jogging, hiking, cycling, gym, etc) prior to a couple of weeks. Previous trekking experience and knowledge about peak climbing is highly required for this peak climb.

Best Season for Yala Peak Climbing:
Peak Climbing in Nepalese mountain is a seasonal. Basically 3 months in autumn – September, October & November and 3 months in spring – March, April & May are the perfect time for this Yala Peak Climbing. During the time, weather would be clear, sunny and warm in Himalayas thus we can have great views of mountains. Nevertheless, some adventure-seeking clients who does like crowed environment also can choose December, January and February months for this trip. Monsoon season three months (June, July and August) will be ruined by rains.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu [1345m/4411ft] and transfer to Hotel.
Our airport arrival and departure representative will be at Tribhuvan International Airport on your arrival schedule. You will be transferred to hotel and our staff will help you until check-in procedure ends at Hotel. Either you can have rest at Hotel or visit NGT’s office. In the evening, join our welcome dinner program organized by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition Team.

Day 02: Sightseeing at Kathmandu

Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for a day sightseeing.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche [1966m/6448ft] [7-8 hrs Drive] 
After breakfast we will drive north from Kathmandu over zigzag and hilly road that passes through a busy market town of Trishuli Bazaar and from there we continue the driving journey over a gravel road all the way to reach the starting point of the trek - Dhunche. Today's drive offers good views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himalayan Ranges. Besides, you will get brief glimpses of village life along the drive route.

Day 04: Trek from Dhunche to Thulo Syabru [2250m/7380ft] [4-5 hrs Trek]
We start our trek from Dhunche over a dusty motor road that head towards Syabrubesi. We will reach a small village of Thulo Bharkhu which indicates the start of the trekking trail. From there we will follow the trail go gently climbs through Oaks and pines filled forest towards Barbal. Here on we will continue our trek walking along an easy undulating trail along the forest and with glimpses of Ganesh Himal and the beautiful Langtang valley. We head up to the ridge top of Thulo Syabru where the village is inhabited by Tamang ethnic community. Here we will visit a permit check post for our registration procedure.

Day 05: Trek from Thulo Syabru to Lama Hotel [2470m/8101ft] [5-6 hrs Trek]
From Thulo Syabru, we will descend following the trail that drops down to Langtang Khola and from there turning east on the true left bank of the Langtang Khola, we continue to trek upstream with minor ups and downs towards Bamboo. From there we head for the crossing of a suspension bridge before crossing a couple of landslide areas and climb a switchback to reach Rimche. From Rimche our trail climbs a little before dropping to the village of Lama Hotel.

Day 06: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village [3330m/10922ft] [5-6 hrs Trek] 
Leaving Lama Hotel we will enter the dense forest filled with oaks, birch, hemlock and mountain bamboo where we will have opportunity to spot wild monkeys and several species of birds. Our trail continues through forest passing through a lone teahouse at Gumnachok and from there climb steeply towards Ghoratabela. There is an army check post at Ghoratabela where trekking permits will be checked. From here we will trek through small settlements of Chyamki and Kangtangsa before making a short climb to reach Langtang village.

Day 07: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyangjin Gompa [3870m/12693ft] [3-4 hrs Trek]
From Langtang village we will head for an easy climb through two Bhotia hamlets - Mundu and Sindum with great views of Langtang Lirung, Ganchenpo and Langshisa Ri. We will continue on a trail that climbs the terminal moraine of Lirung Glacier and descends down to the gompa and many teahouses of Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 08: Rest/Acclimatization day at Kyangjin Gompa. Hike to Tsergo-Ri [4,985m/16350ft] & back to Kyangjin Gompa.
Acclimatization is very crucial in higher altitudes. Today we will spend our day for acclimatization and making exploration around Kyangjin Gompa. We can make an adventurous hike to Tsergo-Ri at 4985 meters for magnificent views of Langtang Lirung and the surrounding high peaks.

Day 09: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Base Camp [4600m/15088ft] [5-6 hrs Trek]
We will continue to follow the trail that goes over the glacier and ascends gradually all the way to the base camp. During our trek, we will have great views of Yala Peak, Langtang Lirung and other surrounding high peaks. Once we reach the base camp, we will quickly set up our camps and make necessary checks on our health status and climbing gears for successful Yala Peak Climbing.

Day 10: Summit Yala Peak [5500m/18040ft] and back to Yala Base Camp [7-8 hrs Climb]
Today is the day for actually achieving the target summit of Yala Peak. Fully acclimatized and properly equipped we will make an early start, as strong winds afternoon can create obstacles making it impossible to climb. Following the footsteps and guidance of our experienced climbing experts we head to the summit of Yala Peak. Once at the top we are rewarded with breathtaking views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Ganchenpo, Naya Kanga Peak and several snow-topped high mountains. We will spend some quality time at the summit before following the same trail as for the return journey that heads back to the base camp.

Day 11: Trek from Yala Base Camp to Langtang Village [5-6 hrs Trek]
After having achieved the summit of Yala Peak, we will continue to retrace our steps and following the same trail that passes through Kangjin Gompa and then continue trekking until we arrive at the Langtang village.

Day 12: Trek from Langtang to Lama Hotel [5-6 hrs Trek]
Leaving Langtang village, we will continue to retrace our steps on the main trail towards Ghoratabela and from there an easy downhill walk through the dense forest filled with oaks, birch, hemlock and Himalayan bamboos to reach Lama Hotel.

Day 13: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi [1467m/4811ft] [6-7 hrs Trek]
From Lama Hotel, we will continue to trek on the main trail that descends all the way down to reach Syabrubesi. Today is the final day of our trek with rather easy downward trekking that passes along several traditional villages and terraced farmlands, through dense forest filled with rhododendron, oak and pine trees.

Day 14: Drive from Syabrubesi back to Kathmandu [7-8 hrs Drive]
We will drive from Syabrubesi along zigzag hilly roads back to Kathmandu. During our drive journey, we will have opportunity to witness daily activities of local people for survival while we drive along several villages and towns.

Day 15: Free day at Kathmandu
You would surely like to see as much of Kathmandu as possible. An early start is practical to visit the temples of Kathmandu. Also, walking around the shopping area of Thamel is worth spending quality time at Kathmandu. We will have a final meal together in the evening.
