Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa (3,650m/11,972ft)
You will be greeted by our representative at Lhasa Gonggar Airport on your arrival schedule. You will then be transferred to the hotel in Lhasa where additional information about the sightseeing will be given. As you have reached over 3,500 meters above the sea level, it is best that you rest and stroll around the places in the evening for acclimatization. Spend the overnight at the hotel in Lhasa - the capital, heart and soul of Tibet.

Day 02: Lhasa sightseeing: Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace and Tibet Traditional Hospital
After breakfast, we will visit the Potala Palace which is one of the most monumental of structures in Tibet. The massive palace was built around the 17th century. We will explore and reveal the enormity of Potala Palace which was designed to serve numerous diverse functions. It was the place where Dalai Lama and his large entourage resided and where all the ceremonies were held. All administrative and political decisions concerning the country were made from here. The sacred images, spectacular tombs of Dalai Lamas, large chapels, storage chambers, treasuries - all contribute to Potala's extraordinary status.
After lunch, we will visit Norbulingka Palace which was established by the Seventh Dalai Lama, Kelsang Gyatso around the 18th century. Since the middle of 18th century the palace has been the official summer residence of the Dalai Lama. The palace consists of more than 400 rooms and chapels. Besides, the ' Jewel Park ' or the garden of the palace is highly acknowledged for being the biggest man-made garden in whole Tibet.
Next, we visit the Tibet Traditional Hospital which is the center for the treatment, training, research and production of Tibetan medicine. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 03: Lhasa Sightseeing: Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar
After breakfast, we will visit Sera Monastery which was founded in 1419 AD by Sakya Yeshe - a principal disciple of Tsong Khapa. The complex of Sera comprises of 'Tsokchen' (Great Hall), three 'tratsangs' and thirty 'khangtsens'. A khangtsen is a residential compound with chapels reserved for monks coming from different parts of Tibet, whereas a tratsang is an educational institution that offers specialized studies to monks.
Then we will visit Drepung Monastery which was founded in 1416 AD by Jamyang Chöje - a leading disciple of Tsong Khapa. The major structures of the monastery follow a simple architectural comprising of a courtyard, a large hall and inner chapels. Also, the tombs of three Dalai Lamas are sited at Drepung. Around 500 monks and their young novices have returned to live at Drepung since the early 1980's.
Our next attraction destination is Jokhang Temple. It has earned its reputation as Tibet's most sacred temple. The temple was built by King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century. The vast majority of its extant statues dates from 1980 onwards whereas most of its murals are from the 18th and 19th centuries. We will explore the temple's rich historical artifacts that have been well preserved.  
To end our long sightseeing day we will take a walk around the busy market of Barkhor Bazaar. The open air stalls, souvenir shops and crowds of pilgrims truly makes this market the centre-point of Lhasa. After a long day of sightseeing we head back to our hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 04: Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950m/12,956ft) via Karo La Pass and Yamdrok Tso Lake: [325km, 5-6 hours]
On the following day, we will depart from Lhasa for Gyantse. Lhasa to Gyantse trail passes through Kamba La(4794m), the Karo La pass(5010m) followed by Yamdork Tso-one of the 3 largest sacred lakes in Tibet, also known as a turquoise lake. We will make a stop at couple of spots getting a charge out of magnificence of the surrounding.

Day 05: Gyantse to Shigatse (3,900m/12,795ft) via Shalu Monastery: [95km, 2 hours]
After breakfast, we will depart from Gyantse for Shigatse. This will be a busy day for us as we will be visiting Gyantse Stupa and monastery. After a two hour Drive to Shigatse, we have enough time to explore Gaint Buddha in a famous Tashilumpo Monastery, the seat of Panchen Lama.

Day 06: Shigatse to Rongbuk (5,000m/16,400ft) via Sakya Monastery: 355km, [8-9 hours]
After breakfast, we leave Shigatse for Rongbuk. On the way, we visit the Sakya Monastery which is the ancestral temple of the Sakyapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. After the visit to Sakya Monastery, we continue driving towards Rongbuk. Here, we visit the Rongbuk monastery, which is located at the foot of the mighty Everest and is the highest monastery in the world. While here, we also enjoy the stunning mountainous scenery all around us. Overnight in Rongbuk.

Day 07: Rongbuk to Gyirong (2,700m/8,900ft) via Everest Base Camp: [257km, 5-6 hours]
We leave Rongbuk in the morning to visit the Everest Base Camp (5,250m/17,220ft). On our way, we enjoy spectacular views of high mountains like Cho Oyu (8,201m/26,906ft), Shishapangma (8,013m/26,289ft) and, of course, Mt. Everest (8,848m/29,028ft) which is also known as Mt. Chomolongma in the Tibetan side. We explore the surrounding for a while probably click some awesome snaps for future memories. After spending some quality time at the base of Everest Base Camp(5200m) we move forward to Gyirong via Rongphu Monastery. Stay overnight in Gyirong.

Note that on rare occasions due to bad weather or political riots the local government may close down the road to the Everest base camp for safety reasons and without prior notice.

Day 8: Gyirong-Rasuwagadhi-Kathmandu
From Gyirong County to Gyirong port, where you will part with your Tibetan guide and driver, successful completion of our journey .walk across the Rasuwagadhi- where a Nepal Guide representative will be waiting for us. After around 5 hours of driving through deep valleys, we reach Kathmandu. In the evening, we enjoy authentic Nepalese food on our farewell dinner hosted by Nepal Guide Treks & Expedition to celebrate the successful completion of our journey. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 09: Sightseeing in Kathmandu: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath and Bauddhanath
After breakfast, we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square which reflects the architectural and traditional heritages that were built around 12th - 18th century during the rule of Malla Dyanasty. After exploring around durbar square we will visit Swayambhunath Temple (Monkey-Temple) which is situated on top of a hill overlooking the crowded valley below. Then we drive towards Pashupatinath Temple - which is one of the largest shrines of Lord Shiva, located at the banks of Bagmati river.

Day 10: Sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapur and Sunset views from Nagarkot
After breakfast we will take a drive approximately 5 km south of Kathmandu towards Patan. Patan Durbar Square is widely known for its fine Pagoda styled temples, unique architectures and stone statues. The major attraction includes Keshav Narayan Chowk, Sundari Chowk, Mul Chowk, Patan Museum, Krishna Temple, Golden Temple, Mahabouddha Temple and Golden Window. Our excursion also includes various temples and Buddhist monuments with bronze gateways and exquisite carvings that dates back to many centuries. In the late afternoon, we will drive towards the hill station of Nagarkot for sunset view.

Day 11: Fly From Kathmandu to Paro Sightseeing at Paro [2250m/7382ft] [1 hr flight]
Today you will be transferred to Kathmandu Airport for a flight to Paro. Our representative will greet you at Paro Airport on your arrival schedule. Then a drive towards Paro City for having Lunch. After lunch we will visit Ta Dzongs which is an ancient watchtower that was converted to National Museum of Bhutan in 1968. We will get a brief glimpse of Bhutanese history, culture and tradition at the Museum. Then, we will visit Paro Rimpung Dzong which is located below the National Museum. A short distance of walking will lead us through are several number of archery grounds where we might get lucky to catch an archery match in action. As a matter of fact, Archery is the national sport of Bhutan. We will spend our overnight at Paro

Day 12: Paro to Thimphu (2,320m/7,610ft): [54 km, 1 hour] hike to Taktsang Monastery
After breakfast, we hike for 4 -5 hours to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan's most famous monastery situated at 3,180 meters. Guru Rinpoche (spiritual master) is said to have flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands. Lunch will be served in the Cafeteria Restaurant, located about halfway up the mountain. After having explored the monastery, we hike down to the valley floor and drive to Thimphu. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 13: Sightseeing in Thimphu
IAt Thimpu we will make visits to National Memorial Chorten, National Library - for witnessing piles of priceless Buddhist manuscripts, Bhutan Folk Heritage Museum - where we can learn about Bhutanese household and lifestyle as the museum exhibits items and artifacts used in a rural household. After lunch, we will visit Textile Museum - where traditional art of weaving is still preserved. There is a fine collection of old textiles with a fascinating mixture of colors and designs. We will also visit the Handicraft Emporium that has impressive Bhutanese handicrafts for sale. In the evening, walking the streets of Thimpu is a good idea. We will spend our overnight at Thimpu
