Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport [1345m/4411ft] and transfer to Hotel.
Our airport arrival and departure representative will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport on your arrival schedule. Then you will be transferred to hotel and our staff will help you until check-in procedure ends at Hotel. Either you can have a rest at the Hotel or visit NGT’s office. In the evening, join our welcome dinner program organized by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition Team.

Day 02: Sightseeing at Kathmandu Valley.

Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for a day sightseeing.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla [2800m/9184m] [35 min flight] & Trek to Phakding [2640m/8659ft] [3-4 hrs Trek]
Today we will leave Kathmandu and take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, that takes around 35 minutes. Lukla is the gateway to the Khumbu and Everest Region. From Lukla our trek starts following a gentle climb through left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Our trek passes along several mani walls before arriving at Ghat. Our trail continues along a small path with many climbs and descents following the left bank of Dudh Koshi to Phakding.

Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar [3440m/11283ft] [5-6 hrs Trek]
From Phakding, we continue on our trek by crossing a stream and climbing up the terraced hill until we arrive at Bengar. We continue to trek along the path with many ups and downs, we will stop at the National Park Service where the park entrance fee is collected. After a short distance along the Bhote Koshi River, we begin the steep ascent towards Namche Bazar. As the mountain path zigzags uphill, we emerge at a ridge top rest area that offers excellent views of Everest 8848m and Lhotse 8516m. The climb eases somewhat as the path goes along the pine forest to reach Namche Bazar.

Day 05: Acclimatization and Exploration day at Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar is the also known as the Sherpa Capital and has an abundance of lodges, tea shops and souvenir shops. It is an ideal place to spend a rest day for acclimatization at the high altitude before heading off towards higher altitudes. For acclimatization, we can walk up to Khunde Hospital which was set-up by Sir Edmund Hillary, or go on a one hour walk up to the Syangboche 3800m for an outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. There are also good views from the National Park Centre and Museum just above the town.

Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche [3867m/12683ft] [5-6 hrs Trek]
After spending a good day acclimatizing and exploring around Namche Bazaar, today we will continue trekking to reach Tyangboche. To the right, there is a steep cliff that drops down to the Dudh Koshi, faintly visible on the valley floor below. We descend past two tea houses through the village of Trashinga. It is a long climb to Tyangboche, the first half is especially steep. As we climb through the forested zone, the incline eases and a splendid view of surrounding high mountains appears. We continue climbing the mountainside diagonally until we reach the stone gate built by lamas which mark our entry into Tyangboche.

Day 07: Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche [4260m/13972ft] [5-6 hrs Trek]
Leaving Tyangboche we continue to follow the trail that gradually ascends through the mountain path while enjoying great views of the majestic Ama Dablam and Kantega as they appear on the opposite bank. We continue the uphill trek through the chorten-lined route, the upper path passes Pangboche and a monastery and the lower path to Pangboche Olin and its stone wall-enclosed potato field. The trail climbs slowly passing the village to a big Mani Stupa. From here, the walk is fairly moderate all the way to Dingboche.

Day 08: Trek from Dingboche to Island Peak Base Camp [5087m/16685ft] [6-7 hrs Trek]
From Dingboche, we will follow the trail that gradually ascends towards the high Imja valley and all the way to Island Peak Base Camp. During our trek, we will have magnificent and panoramic views of Mt. Ama Dablam 6812m, Mt. Lhotse 8501m, Mt. Nuptse 7879m, Island Peak 6189m and others peaks. We will set up our camp on the base of Island Peak's south ridge beneath the giant wall of Nuptse and Lhotse for our overnight stay.

Day 09: Island Peak summit [6189m/20299ft] & Back to Base Camp [9-10 hrs climb]
Today we start early for achieving the summit of Island Peak. It is best if we reach the summit before noon as the strong winds after midday can create obstacles for the successful climbing of the summit. We will have to cross several crevasses and overcome technical sections with proper use of ropes, ice axes, harness and other climbing equipments. Following the guidance of our climbing experts we will achieve the summit of this physically challenging but at the same time adventurous climb of Island Peak. From the top of the peak we are rewarded with the charismatic views of Mt. Lhotse 8501m, Mt. Makalu 8475m, Lhotse Middle Peak 8410m, Lhotse Shar 8383m, Mt. Nuptse 7879m, Mt. Baruntse 7129m and other high peaks. After achieving the summit we gradually re-trace our steps back to reach Island Peak Base Camp.

Day 10: Trek from Island Peak Base Camp to Dingboche [5-6 hrs Trek]
After successfully achieving the summit of Island Peak, our return journey heads through the same trail from Island Peak Base Camp back towards Dingboche.

Day 11: Trek from Dingboche to Namche Bazaar [6-7 hrs Trek]
From Dingboche, we start to descend on a fairly moderate trail passing through Tyangboche. Our route from there declines further down through forested zones towards the village of Trashinga and continue our trekking on the trail that leads us back to Namche Bazaar.

Day 12: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla [5-6 hrs Trek]
The last day of our Island Peak Climbing trek leads from Namche Bazaar via Monjo to Lukla. The trek is a pleasant walk, except for few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote- Koshi River crossing it three times. The last uphill climb of 45 minutes will bring us back to Lukla.

Day 13: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
We take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Enjoy the scenic mountain flight after the wonderful experience of Island Peak Climbing together with Nepal Guide Treks and Expeditions. You can spend rest of your day in Kathmandu walking down the market streets of Thamel or simply relax before heading back to your preferred destination.
