Our Annapurna Ghorepani Poonhill Circuit Trek with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition begins from Kathmandu. We will catch an early morning flight to Pokhara from the Tribhuvan International Airport. After landing at Pokhara, we will drive towards Nayapul which will take about one and half hour. Then our trekking towards Tikhedhunga begins from Nayapul. We will walk on a remote and steep trail towards Tikhedhunga and spend our night there. On the other day, we will trek to Ghorepani. It will take about 6 hours to reach there. After spending a night there, we will set off early enough to see the sunrise from the Poonhill. We will also have a panoramic view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Range, Nilgiri (2,637m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Lamjung (6,983m) and Manaslu Himal (8,163m). Our next destination will be Ghandruk. It is the most famous Gurung Village. We will spend a night at Ghandruk, get a close insight of Gurung People and their lifestyle. Then we will head towards Saulibazaar and take a ride on jeep towards Pokhara.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to Hotel.
Upon your arrival in Nepal, you will be received warmly by the representatives of Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition. They will take you to the hotel at Thamel. They will also help you check-in into the hotel. You can rest for the day and in the evening you will have a meeting with Guide and porter and we shall have dinner together.Accommodation: Hotel/ResortMeals: BB Plan + Welcome Dinner.
Day 02: Fly to Pokhara in the Morning and Drive to Nayapul then Trek to Tikhedhunga [1577m/5172ft] [3-4 hrs trek]
We will catch an early morning flight to Pokhara. It will take about 20 minutes. Then we will have a drive for another one and half hour towards Nayapul – the starting point of our trek. From Nayapul we will start our trek along the sub-tropical Modi Khola river valley towards Birethanti. At Birethanti we will have to make a stop at the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP)’s checkpoint. After completing the registration and permit check process we will continue our trek through terraced rice fields towards Tikhedhunga for the overnight stay.Accommodation: Eco LodgesMeals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner.
Day 03: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani [2855m/9364ft] [5-6 hrs trek]
From Tikhedhunga our trail crosses a small stream before climbing up a steep stone staircase towards the large Magar village of Ulleri at 2070 meters. We will continue our trek through rhododendron and oak filled forests passing through Nangethanti to reach Ghorepani. From here we will have good views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and other fascinating snow-capped peaks.Accommodation: Eco LodgesMeals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner.
Day 04: Morning hike to Poonhill & Trek to Ghandruk [1940m/6363ft] [3-4 hrs trek]
This is one of the popular destinations for the birds’ lovers. Ghandruk – is a big Gurung tribe settlement. There are a handicraft centre and Gurung museum. Day 05: Trek to Saulibazar and Drive to Pokhara
Today is the last day of the trek. After having breakfast, we will descend down to Saulibazar and drive to Pokhara. It will take almost two and a half hours to reach Saulibazar from Ghandruk. Then, we will take a ride of about two hours to reach Pokhara on a Jeep. Pokhara is the trekkers’ paradise. We will visit the lakeside in the evening. Day 06: Fly Back to Kathmandu and Departure

Anyone with modest trekking experience can undertake Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. It covers low altitude areas with the highest point being Poon Hill with an altitude of 3, 210 m. It is an easy level and short trek in comparison to Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Circuit Trek, Manaslu Trek and Gokyo Valley Trek. Trekking 300-500 per day won’t be any problem. You can go for this trekking along with your children. There is no problem with altitude sickness. You don’t have to cover long distances every day. There are lots of rest spots throughout the trail. You can spend sufficient time there for your children to rest. You shall find lodges, teahouses at every 30 minutes of walk, so you do not need to hurry.
One of the most difficult parts of the Annapurna Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is climbing 3500 stairs during the hike at Ulleri. Similarly, the hike to Poonhill from Tadapani also demands you trek up some stairs. Except for these parts, most parts of the trek are relatively easier and comfortable. A backpack of around 25 litres, torch, camera and battery charger, spare batteries, toilet paper, quick-drying towels are all the basic necessities that will work out. Besides that, a pair of gloves, sunglasses, some useful medications, and first aid box can add meaning on your trip.
