Trip Introduction :

Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek in Bhutan is a short trek near Thimpu. The trek is a wonderful journey that leads through paddy fields, several yak herders camp, coniferous and dense Rhododendron filled forests, on less beaten trails to a large number of pristine lakes. The trek is considered moderate with mostly short trekking days, however, offers rewarding views of whole Dagala Range with an excellent opportunity to explore Bhutan’s rich flora and fauna including the country’s people, culture and traditions.

Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek with Nepal Guide Treks starts from Kathmandu. After spending a full day sightseeing at Kathmandu Valley, we take a flight from Kathmandu to Paro. From Paro, we take a drive passing through paddy fields and coniferous forests towards Genekha – the starting point of the trek.

Our trekking journey leads up the ridge through several yak herders camps with a magnificent view over the whole Dagala Range, towards the broad Labatama valley near Utso Lake where Golden Trouts can be spotted in large numbers. A short distance beyond the lake leads to Panka from where a good view of Dagala Range and Thimpu can be enjoyed.

From Panka it is a long descent through the forest to the village of Talakha. We continue descending on a steep trail to reach Chamgang from where we drive to reach Thimpu. Our trek technically ends here. The amazing and memorable trekking experience at Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek with Nepal Guide Treks ends with a drive to Paro and fight back to Kathmandu or your preferred destination.
