The Manaslu Circuit Trek Cost and Itinerary start with an overland drive on a nice highway and then on a rough scenic road to reach at Soti Khola via Arughat, a small town in Gorkha district.   • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

    Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, our representatives will pay you a warm welcome and transfer you to the hotel. They will also assist you in the check-in procedure. You can either stay in the hotel and rest or you can visit Nepal Guide Trek and Expedition office at Thamel in Kathmandu to discuss the trip. In the evening, we shall have a welcome dinner organized by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition

  • Day 02: Exploring Kathmandu

    Today you have a city tour at Kathmandu valley. You will visit the ancient city Bhaktapur, the holiest Hindu temple Pashupatinath and the largest stupa in the world Boudhanath. These destinations are the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and highly visited by locals and tourists. After the city tour, drive back to your hotel and unpack for the trek

  • Day 03: Kathmandu to Soti Khola

    After breakfast, you will drive west along Kathmandu- Pokhara Highway towards the village of Soti Khola, turning off towards the hilltop village of Dhading. The drive passes through rural communities, small towns, green terraces, and lush hill sides. The road will eventually become a rutted, dirt path and you will start to see views of the southern slope of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Himal. Finally, you will arrive at Soti Khola, located in the Budi Gandaki Valley for dinner.

  • Day 04: Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola

    After breakfast at Soti Khola, you will begin this epic trek up and down through various landscapes including forests, paddy fields, ridges and cliffs, rivers, streams and waterfalls. The journey begins by crossing a bridge before you trek through a forest. You will climb onto a ridge above the wild rapids of Budhi Gandaki River. You will then reach Khursane on a rocky trail, pass two tropical waterfalls and you will eventually descend past few paddy fields and continue up and around the Gurung Village of Labubesi. From here, you will further climb over a side ridge and head along the shore until you reach the village of Machha Khola.

  • Day 05: Trek to Jagat

    The trek here follows the gorge and continues up the river. The trail is narrow at first and gently heads up and down. We will be crossing the Tharo Khola to reach Khorlabesi. After much ascending and descending, you will arrive at a small hot spring in Tatopani- a good place to take a break. From here you will climb over another ridge, then cross the Budhi Gandaki River. After that, you will climb up a staircase and head over a ridge to Dobhan. Similarly, crossing another suspension bridge over the Yaru Khola, you will keep ascending Tharo Bharyang. Then crossing the west bank of Budhi Gandaki, you will trek along the river and then climb towards the village of Jagat.

  • Day 06: Trek from Jagat to Deng

    From here you will make your way through various landscapes and dense sub-tropical forest, small rivers, rustic villages to reach to your final destination. Climb to Salleri and then descend to Sirdibas. The trail continues to Ghatta Khola. You will continue walking upstream to a long suspension bridge at  Philim, a large Gurung Village. Our trail enters a steep uninhabited gorge towards the tiny village of Deng. This region is known as Kutung.

  • Day 07: Trek from Deng to Namrung

    We follow up and down trails towards Ghap- a small village of five or six stone houses famous for its Mani walls with distinctive carvings of Buddha. The route ascends making a long climb through bamboo and rhododendron filled forest to Namrung. Namrung is a small village with lovely stone houses and a police check post.

  • Day 08: Trek from Namrung to Shya

    From Namrung we will move towards the Nupri Region which is inhabited by descendants of Tibetan immigrants. After passing through the villages of Barcham, Li and Sho- the trail finally emerges on to a plateau of Shya. From here we will get to enjoy one of the most spectacular view sites in the Himalayas with wide vistas of Himal Chuli and Manaslu. We will spend the overnight here.

  • Day 09: Trek from Shya to Samagaon

    The trek is rather short for this day. After having through breakfast we leave Shya and follow the trail that crosses the ridge. Then we enter and then exit a side canyon. From there we climb across the rocky slope to emerge on to a ridge overlooking the extensive pastures and fields of Samagaon. Samagaon is a busy village.

  • Day 10: Acclimatization Day at Samagaon

    We take a day –off to acclimatize, relax, and explore the area around Samagaon. Walking up to the monastery, roaming around the busy village with warm and friendly locals or visiting the local schools can be a good idea to spend a day here at Samagaon.

  • Day 11: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo

    We cross pastures and gradually ascend to the valley below. We will see fantastic views of the mountains, especially Manaslu, that lies ahead of us as we reach Samdo, a Tibetan refugee village. This remote village is only a day’s walk from the Tibetan border. In the afternoon we will explore the village and the surrounding hills and come back at Samdo to spend the night.

  • Day 12: Acclimatization Day at Samdo

    It is necessary for us to take another acclimatization day before heading higher than 4500m. We will prepare you for the next day for crossing Larke La pass at 5135 m above the sea level. While at Samdo, we should consider climbing up the slopes to the north for some great view of the entire Manaslu range.

  • Day 13: Trek from Samdo to Larkya Phedi

    From samdo, the trail descends to the bridge and across Gyala Khola. Then we begin to climb the trail to the large pile of Mani stones just above Larkya Bazaar. Heading further upwards we can have a fascinating view of Larkya Peak and northern face of Mt. Manaslu. Moving further ahead we will reach Larkya Phedi where we will stay in teahouse.

  • Day 14: Trek to Bimtang via Larkya La Pass

    We will start the trek before the sunrise and climb up a ridge, eventually ending up on top of the moraine at 4690m.  The trail from here is steeper to the top of the Larkya La Pass. From the top, we can see Annapurna II, Menjung, Himlung and Cheo Himal. From the top of the pass, we will descend towards Bimtang.

  • Day 15: Trek to Bimtang to Dharapani

    From Bimtang we descend down through pine and rhododendron forest to Hompuk. From there we continue climbing down towards the fork of Dudh Khola. From there, our trail can be a little difficult to follow as we head across some large landslides to reach the scattered settlements of Karche. It is now downhill slope to the large Gurung village of Tilije. We cross a long suspension bridge over the Marsyangdi River to reach Dharapani for overnight stay.

  • Day 16: Trek from Dharapani to Syange

    After breakfast, we leave Dharapani and follow the trail that climbs up and away from Marsyangdi River. We continue moving ahead through the broad and flat valley towards a village of Tal. The village is situated at the foot of a large fountain. We continue towards Chamje and descending through the forest we come across the village called Syange.

  • Day 17: Drive Back to Kathmandu

    Having completed our trek, we prepare ourselves for a drive from Syange back to Kathmandu. At first, the drive may not seem pleasant because of the bumpy roads. When you catch up with the man highway, you will love the roadside scenery along the riverbank.

  • Day 18: Free Day at Kathmandu

    This day is in fact a leisure day after a steady-going trek. You can either stay at the hotel and rest or go sightseeing the rest of the landmarks in Kathmandu. You can have a quality time to spend walking around the busy shopping streets of Thamel. We will celebrate the completion of Manaslu Circuit Trek and have a final meal together in the evening.

    Altitude Sickness also known as mountain sickness is the condition in which our body could not adjust to the environment due to the less barometric pressure. When we move to the high altitude the barometric pressure will be less and our body couldn’t adjust to that air pressure due to which we feel nausea, dizziness, fatigue, vomiting, headache, loss of appetite, shortness of sleep etc. which is called Altitude sickness. In terms of its complexities, altitude sickness is grouped into three categories:

    •  Acute Mountain Sickness: It is very common at high altitude and can cause vomiting, dizziness, nausea etc. overall, it is the mildest form of altitude sickness.
    •  High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE): It is a very dangerous and life threatening conditions because fluid is built up in the lungs.
    •  High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE): It is the most severe stage of Altitude Sickness because fluid is built up in the brain. It is life threatening one. The victim will be unable to walk, breathe and ultimately in Coma.
