Trip Introduction :

Mount Kailash is one of the sacred peaks of Asia which is located in the far west corner of Tibet. Mt. Kailash and Lhasa Tour via Simikot offers the adventure-seeking travellers an ultimate adventure experience. The trek via Simikot reduces the chances of altitude sickness which is why this route is popular among the tourists planning to visit Mount Kailash and Lhasa.

At Lhasa, we will have two-day full sightseeing for exploring the culture and understanding their lifestyle. This trekking tour to Lhasa through Simikot is a great opportunity to learn about the local culture, unique traditional lifestyles in Nepal as well as in Tibet while gaining a lifetime experience by indulging in a holy trek around Mount Kailash.

Mt Kailash Lhasa Tour via Simikot with Nepal Guide Treks starts at Kathmandu. After spending a full day sightseeing at Kathmandu valley, we take a flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. And another flight from there to the Simikot. From Simikot we trek for six days on a less beaten trail that connects to Tibet. This route is considered to be the shortest and practical for trekkers in terms of distance and acclimatization.

Besides, the ancient trail offers magnificent views of landscapes, surrounding snow-capped mountains and cultures of local people. After the trek we take a drive to Darchen – the foot of Mt Kailash, from there we continue on our journey with a three-day trek also known as Kora or Parikrama around Mount Kailash passing through Drolma La Pass at 5,630 meters.

It is said and believed that the holy trek around Mount Kailash is incomplete without a bath in the sacred Manasarovar Lake. So, our journey heads passing through Manasarover Lake towards Lhasa. At Lhasa, we will enjoy a two-day full sightseeing tour. We will make visits to Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace, Jokhang Temple, Tibet Museum, Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and shoppers’ favourite – Barkhor Bazaar.
